But hard work pays in the end!

Streatham, although bottom of the table, have showed steady improvement throughout the season and therefore PJF couldn't take them lightly. The first 20 minutes of the game proving that there are no easy games in the league. Streatham and Croydon pressed hard early on with the pressure compounded by a series of silly mistakes by PJF which the referee readily penalised. At the 20 minute mark PJF got there first break when a Streatham player knocked the ball backwards and Iain Greenwood picked the lose ball to run 30m to the line only to be called back as the referee's view gave him the impression that the ball had gone forward from a PJF hand. From the disappointment PJF had to rebuild and it wasn't any surprise when Jack Kennedy nipped in for one of his trademark tries to open the scoring. The extra points were added by George Perry. From the kick off Alex Wilson took the ball in the air and was adjudged to have been taken early. From the kick PJF set up their next attack that culminated in a scrum 5 . From the scrum Joe Dwyer drove over but the try was disallowed for Joe latching onto a Luca Bellavia and creating a truck and trailer offence. But it wasn't long before PJF turned the scoreboard over again with another converted try. The first half ended with a deft kick through the Streatham defence for Brad Bosman to dab down in the corner and the first half came to a close with PJF 0-19 to the good.

PJF had started to play better and PJF continued to apply the pressure against an obstinate Streatham side who made them fight every inch of the way. PJF continued to keep the score board clicking over with Jack Kennedy adding to his first half tries and scores were also added by Brad Bosman, Sam Arnold, and Lewis Dennelly with one further conversion being kicked by George Perry. Great performances were put in by Luca Bellavia with his crashing runs and Peter Bennett who showed off some real form on the day and some hard yards were made by Alex Wegrzynek in a good second half performance.

The score belies the effort put in by Streatham who scored a consolation try under the posts with a move where everything gelled for them. Streatham will continue to improve and we wish them well.

Focus for PJF shifts to next week's final league game against Met Police at Imber Court. The game will be tough and with two or three players picking up knocks on Saturday there will be changes. But PJF need to concentrate on winning the game as Kingston also gained 5 league points from Cranleigh and remain only 5 points behind with a better points difference. So PJF go into the final game of the season with their destiny in their own hands, and with everything to play for PJF cannot rest on their laurels.
