A great day for rugby and PJF's first warm up game against the recently renames Trinity RFC. A game played in four quarters. From the start Trinity put PJF under pressure and for the first five minutes Trinity were camped in PJFs 22m. Eventually the pressure told and Trinity's centre went in under posts. PJFs scrum was taking time to settle down and James Hickey had to come off with an achilles injury. Despite these set backs PJF started to find their feet and a sniping break from Jack saw PJF grab a try back. The game swung back and forth with each side exchanging scores. Having said that PJF always looked the more creative side, but mistakes saw Trinity given some soft tries. The best try of the game was PJFs second which saw PJF sweep down the pitch with some great interpassing. In the third quarter PJF went two scores up but in the fourth quarter PJF seemed to lose concentration and conceded two quick tries which saw Trinity snatch the win at the death. Nevertheless PJF can be pleased with their offensive capabilities but need to maintain concentration through a full eighty minutes, but that will come. Next week PJF entertain a Battersea side at the Pightle with a kick off at 3.00 in their last warm up game before the league season starts away to Chipstead on Saturday, September 21st.
