Youngsters do themselves proud

Youngsters do themselves proud

Niel Kenny17 Apr 2023 - 17:35

Toughest festival they have attended so far

The club put out two under 7s sides, one under 8s, 2 under 9s and one under 10s side at the Harlequins mini festival held at Imber Court in Molesy. All sides equited themselves magnificently and were a realo crdit to their coaches, parents and the club. The festival gave the U6s their first outing as an U7s side. You would never have guessed they were a year younger than any of the other sides accept on size. Their skill levels were fantastic and they will become a very good side going forward. I have to apologise to the under 8s in that I didn't make it over to watch them as they were a long way from the other sides. The U9s put on battling performances throughout the day and the U10s came unstuck against Richmond in the first game losing out by the odd score. They slipped up against a very large and physicla Haslemere side but showed their true colours against Chobham, Farnham and Sutton and Epsom all of which were left chasing clean pairs of heels. So well done to the coaches and especially the young people.
Next week the minis run out again at the London Irish Festival at Sunbury and the Seniors are playing in the Sunshine 7s at East Grinstead.
