We received news from Femi Oresanya, whose son, Derin, plays for club, Femi announced the sudden passing of Verne Sylvester, whose son isabout to start at the school. Verne was a popular teacher at the school. In Femi's own words:
"All, sorry to share this tragically sad news. Many of you will know Verne Sylvester of Streatham-Croydon RFC. A larger than life character. He was a vice president of the club, a former player and minis and juniors lead.
Verne suffered a fatal heart attack in Paris yesterday. He was 47. He had taken his 11 year old son on a mini break before the end of the summer holidays. His son is due to start at John Fisher in September, where Verne taught. https://www.instagram.com/p/DcSzEpvMZyW/?igsi=Z2ZhbDJzZ2I1bG12".
