On Saturday, PJF held the first new format Crowe Cup. Originally, the day was going to be an interclub 10s tournament. However, due to the dry weather and the hard ground the format was changed to a touch tournament. Then irony upon ironies, after nearly three months with very little rain, the day of the Crowe cup saw the heavens open and it was an afternoon of very heavy showers. Spectators were huddled under a large gazebo. In spite of the weather the competition was played out between 5 sides from PJF, O Cats and Warlingham. The final was contested between PJF 2 and O Cats. The final ended in a draw between the two sides at one try a piece. The day ended in a big party back at the club house. Everyone had a great time despite the weather. A big thank goes out to all who braved the elements to come and support this charity event. Thank you also goes to O Cats and Warlingham for making the games competitive. Thank also goes to Andrew Nye for refereeing throughout the afternoon. Also thank you to all those who helped in getting the day on. A special thank goes to Luke Couchman for organsing the event and working tirelessly throughout the day. Brilliant effort.
