A close fought local derby, with PJRFC dominating the scrums with Paddy winning a few against the head, aided by Tom White and Chris Dawes, the forward dominance spilled over to the line out too with, popping up Pete and Towering Tony snatching away a few against the head. This led to the backs enjoying good open rugby and Fisher Flair. Old cats fierce tackling and some poor decisions led to a lack of points despite possession and pahnash. This came from incisive and decisive runs by Reem, Trumper and Norm. Andy scored a scorcher in the corner with 20 minutes to go, and PJRFC were 17-10 ahead. The Cat bounced from the box and some determined attacking rugby by Old Cats, led to poor discipline among PJRFC, and despite some jaw dropping tackles by Dan and Tony and Jules, the Cat got away in the last few minutes to score twice and clinch victory in what the referee described as the fastest game he had officiated for at least 2 seasons. PJRFC entertain 2 sides at home next week bring on the flair!!
