Marlins Victorious with less than a full team

This hard fought encounter at Old Reigatians, stood up to all expectations. The home team were lulled into a false sense of security with PJRFC team arriving in dribs and drabs, though the commitment from the whistle suggested anything but. PJRFC's new front row mustered on the day brought speed in Larry and tenacity in Joe otherwise known as "Porno"- for all the right reasons! And contributed 2 tries to the score card. PJF scrum half Damo perfected the art of speedy delivery, only not to the Fly half, but into the scrum, at times even catching the referee off guard. PJF dominated the line out and were unlucky not to convert this pressure into a score, thanks to some raucous tackling by Old Reigatians. The midfield stood ready for the repeated runs into PJF territory, conceding no tries, Reem in Centre alongside Ben Tompkins and Julian provided an excellent line of defence with knee snapping tackles. Number 8, Neil Leather coined a new move to celebrate his forays into the opposition territory- Leather bottle ball, and may have to live this down on tour!! Steve Timmis and Damean kept the forwards mood up with some decisive kicking through the game, and in the words of the opposition coach, PJF had turned up to do battle on the day, and not even a man advantage made the slightest bit of difference. PJF are in a commanding position at the top of the table !!
