The Marlins started short because of late cry offs. The forwards put up a sterling performance with the Marlins creating a number of opportunities that weren't converted into points because of poor decision making. With players in unfamiliar field positions the Marlins got themselves into good field positions but lacked the positional know how to put the points on the board. It was a disappointing day as Merton were more clinical in their approach and managed to finish off their scoring chances. The referee after the game commended the Marlins forwards and bemoaned their inability to finish as he felt the score should have been a much closer. The heart of the team still beats strong and the players are full of enthusiasm. We have to get behind all the players and sides in the club if we are to be successful. Great to see the 1st team come over to support the Marlins after their game had finished.
