A great start to the season for the Marlins
The Marlins defence was impenetrable with some excellent tackling in midfield. Mark didn't wait long to play his trump card! Piotr made some incisive runs, and by all accounts his sin bin seemed unfair with no sign of any opposition around him at the time of the offence. Rob Clarke commanded the backs and forwards, rather like in Afghanistan- true to his profession.
Karim, a new find playing on the wing scored a superb try under the post after a mazy run. Don't tell the first team was the chorus heard from all corners. The Marlins led till the last 10 minutes 14-12, but the youth in the front five began to tell in the dying minutes of the game with Mids scoring two late tries. Julian preparing for the tour of Sri lanka, joined the auspicious locks' club with Tim Woods the average age of the front 5 was reduced, as was its size; the game wound to a close much to the relief of the opposition who ran out narrow winners 24-14.
