After PJF had thumped Wellingtonians in the home leg when Wellingtonians could not field a strong side PJF went to Ruxley Lane expecting a totally different type of game. The expectation was that Wellingtonians would try to return the favour. What eventually happened on the day was a hard fought cracker which saw Wellingtonians develop a lead and PJF claw it back only for Wellingtonians to go away again. Both sides played running rugby that was exciting to watch with Declan Williams gaining a hat trick of tries. In the end PJF only just came up short, losing 47 - 48. All the players should be congratulated for the type of game it was. Breathless at times and always exciting. This provided a stark contrast to the previous week when PJF could only muster a few players to go down to play Reeds in a rearranged fixture. PJF made the effort and a big thank you goes out to all the boys who travelled. The game was called off and the home side granted a walk over. The next game is on April 7th against Streatham and Croydon when there will be a special lunch for all the older members of the club to remember O Purleians passed and present. If you haven't booked your place there is only a week to go!
