The first half an hour saw the home side three converted tries up after a series of silly mistakes and missed tackles. Thirty five minutes into the game PJF woke up and Joe Cassartelli scored a wonderful try after a great solo run beating two men. On a blustery day and with the wind blowing into their faces during the first half PJF had great hopes for the second, playing with the wind and going into the half time break with all the momentum. In the second half PJF huffed and puffed and made silly mistakes at critical moments that meant they were unable to convert pressure into points. O. Amplefordians couldn't add to theirs either and the game ended in a 21 - 7 win for the home side. The PJF side that promises so much still cannot gel. Success comes from preparation and practice in any endeavour. Whilst the lads all do train, they don't train at the same time, something we need to look at as the season comes to a close.
