PJF had obviously hoped for a start better than this and to find themselves rooted at the bottom of London 3SE, leaves them in the foothills of a very steep, rocky road ahead. Poignantly this Saturday's fixture is at home to fellow strugglers and close rivals, Warlingham. Some wits have already labeled this as a relegation clash, how true this prophecy is, will be proven in the fullness of time.
Meanwhile skipper Tony Mawer has been encouraging his 3rd XV team along with one win and one loss so far this year. PJF lost narrowly to Merton 2's the other week with notable performances from the Crumplin father and son duo. Dad Nick bagged a try whilst son Dan a try and 4 conversions. Other tries came from young new boy Rupert and old hand Bob Scarborough. The oppo scored several tries from breaks deep within their half, but their winner was a cruel blow as it was the very last move of the game. The side were a little ring rusty but nevertheless they did manage to keep their hosts within their sights.
This week they defeated Old Rutlishians with scores from Julian Emanuelle, Tony Mawer and Papa Bilch. These tries were backed up by kicks from Chris "my sex is on fire" Roberts. With the 2's match cancelled, PJF were able to ring the changes and ensure those that wanted had a good run out and blow through
