Unable to close the game out PJF allowed their hosts a deserved win which saw them score 17 points in as many minutes late on in the second half. Hard won possession was all to easily given away as PJF found themselves heavily penalised for exuberant play around the base of the breakdown and set pieces.
Plentiful supply of good ball yielded scant reward as PJF seemed to implode as the game progressed. An early injury saw the back line reorganised and given little time to gel, this affected PJF's usual assured manner. Matt Vaughan scored 2 penalties and a take and drive from a lineout resulted in their only try of the game.
So, where from here. Looking at the fixtures, the scenario implies it is Bognor or bust, as they visit the south coast in a couple of weeks. One can only hope that by then, absentees return and the side digs deep and finds some pride and passion to pressure the League leaders.
