It appears as if they believed the League was theirs alone and that a couple of solid performances would automatically promote them. But rugby is not just for Christmas and now the hard work must start in order to make sure that we do not let ourselves down.
The team's forwards gave their usual sound performance and secured sufficient possession for the backs to make light work of their hosts. Against the elements PJF were given a Penalty try whilst conceding a penalty and dropped goal.
With the wind behind them PJF should have made light work of the game by kicking for territory instead a degree of naivety was shown as they all to often ran from deep within their own half. Another factor in their poor performance was the amount of spilled ball, which allowed their opponents to take possession from the ensuing set pieces and run in 2 late tries to secure the win.
So PJF need to dig deep and see if they can deal with this severe test of their character. Next week they host Camberley at the Pightle in the 3rd round of the Surrey Cup kick off 14:00pm .
