PJF’s pack’s dominance enabled them to release their backline to great effect. Both wingers, Owen and O’Brien were among the try scorers colleting five between them in the sides total of 12 with Vaughan adding 6 conversions.
Ground making drives, good retention and constant re-cycling left Brighton chasing shadows. PJF were very effective in their drills and produced 70 minutes of sublime rugby that enthralled the crowd. PJF’s centre Carson, scrum half Doyle and full back McNally all got on the score sheet as a result.
PJF’s control saw skipper Kerr cross the line 4 times as he provided an effective link between backs and forwards. Brighton were limited to a solitary breakaway try late on in the game.
PJF’s next League fixture will be on Saturday 22nd October ( ko 3pm) when they entertain Old Dunstonians at the Pightle in a top of the League clash.
PJF’s 2nd XV posted a fine result in their Surrey Merit table clash at Cobham. It took a while for the side to get going but forward power subdued the opposition. PJF scored 5 tries – Silitto from a well timed and angled charge, Scarborough from a pushover, Vickers from 30 yards out in the corner, Cutbill from a forward drive and Cripps on a crash ball.
