Lots of good things and one bad result...

PJF came up against an unbeaten Reeds side on Saturday. It is not often that you see PJF come up against a side that was genuinely better than them. On Saturday they lost out to a very good young Reeds team that is possibly the best all round team that PJF have faced in the last 5 years. Despite the score of 8 - 52, PJF put in a battling performance and contested for the full 80 minutes in a very physical game where no quarter was asked and none was given. The front row put in another huge shift, Joe Dwyer tackled himself into the ground and Jon Osbourne deservedly won PJF's man of the match with a huge contribution. The game was played at pace with big hits being put in by both sides. The attitude of the players was terrific throughout the game and no head dropped. PJF appreciated that they were playing a better team, but they can take a lot of pride in their performance use it as a spur to move them on to the next level.

Meanwhile the Marlins visited Suttonians and ran out convincing 30 -5 winners. Another confident display of running rugby. I am sure Jules will post his usual ode to a Marlins victory shortly.

Next week PJF travel to O Haileyburians at Ruxley Lane Ewell, who are currently second in the division, looking to put in a big performance and come away with their second win on the road. The Marlins entertain Raccal Decca at the Pightle.
