The 1st team travelled to Cranleigh and narrowly lost their opening league encounter 39 - 42. They came away with the consolation prize of 2 bonus points having outscored their opponents on the try count 6 tries to 5. Despite a great attacking display there was evidence of the old frailty of conceding too many penalties which allowed the home side to overhaul the PJF total. On the other hand the Marlins started their league campaign with a storming win over Sutton and Epsom by 67 - 17. Despite the disappointment of the first result the Club can look forward to an excellent season.
