It is with great sadness that the Club announces the death of Derek Sharman

By Niel Kenny

A great servant and supporter of the Club. RIP Derek

I received notice from Mike Sharman of Derek's passing yesterday. Mike wrote:
"I am sorry to have to tell you that my brother, Derek, died last week after a short but serious illness. Derek and I played together for the Club from the late 50's and and he supported the Club and came to the lunches right through to this year.

His family are planning for a memorial service on Tuesday 9th January at All Saints Church, Sanderstead, and a get-together afterwards. I will let you have further details on timing etc., but in the meantime I hope his friends will put the date in their diaries and that we have a good turnout on the day."

Mike Tidy commented "Derek always supported the club and was a regular at all the pre match lunches. "

Derek was a true friend of the Club and a great supporter. He will be sorely missed. We pass on our sincerest commiserations to his family. We hope as many of Derek's friends from the club will be able to attend the memorial service on January 9th.
