A fitting tribute to past president and player Harry Flowers.

Over 65 people sat down to an excellent lunch hosted by Club Chairman Bryan Whicher. We were joined at lunch by guests Mr Philip McCullagh, headmaster at John Fisher School and Mr Bryon Freer, President of O Whitgiftians RFC. Over an excellent steak and kidney pie lunch provided by Julian Norton there was much convivial conversation. In a speech by Mr McCullagh he expressed his wider vision of community for boys who leave John Fisher School and the important role that the sporting associations and the alumni can play in creating that community.
The match itself, against Old Whitgiftians, was preceded by a minutes silence as a mark of respect for the recent passing of Harry Flowers and for O. Whitgiftians their loss of Mike Spicer.
The match itself was a great sporting affair with both sides playing with pace, passion and sportsmanship. PJF finally running out as 17 - 0 victors (See Match Centre for a report of the game). The icing on the cake was provided by the Marlins with their win over O. Suttonians 35 - 15.
